K&K's origin dates back to 1952, when its founders, Nord and Teddi Krauskopf, began managing and marketing a benevolent fund to provide accident medical benefits to injured race car drivers. As avid motorsport enthusiasts, they had a unique understanding of the high risks associated with motorsport racing. This knowledge and experience allowed them to gradually expand their operation by designing and marketing numerous specialty products to benefit all aspects of the motorsport industry including: racetrack facilities, promoters, sanction organizations, associations, race teams and sponsors.
The Krauskopf's involvement in motorsports, however, wasn't exclusively focused on insurance. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, K&K was involved in a variety of racing activities as a team owner/sponsor.
